EEN event at the Medical Innovation Forum

The London Innovation Relay Centre is hosting an EEN event at the Medical Innovation Forum in London on 25 June 2008.

The Medical Innovation Forum is the premier networking event for all those with an interest in health technologies, to discuss innovations, fast-track technology transfer, find partners, offer capabilities and seek funding/licensing agreements. This unique national forum is staged in association with the Association of British Healthcare Industries (ABHI), the Health Technologies Knowledge Transfer Network, Medilink UK and UK Trade & Investment.

The purpose is to bring together the medical devices industry and the academic/research community to discuss innovations, fast track technology transfer, find partners, offer capabilities and seek funding/licensing agreements. All participants are able to pre-arrange one-on-one meetings to explore partnering and collaboration opportunities.

The EU’s Seventh Framework Programme (FP7) includes a health theme with a budget of € 6 billion and creates tremendous opportunities for international partnerships, bringing together the research expertise of the public and private sectors from across the EU. So companies, research institutes and universities interested in transnational co-operation are encouraged to use this EEN event to make contact with potential partners and discuss collaboration opportunities on new Framework 7 projects.

Around five hundred participants are expected to take part, including:

As a participant, you will be able to create your own Personal Agenda, selecting from an extensive programme of over 80 roundtable discussion groups, tabletop presentations and panel sessions

Companies, and research organisations involved in developing early-stage medical innovations can present investment opportunities to venture capitalists, business angels and other prospective business partners.

Private and public sector organisations interested in applying for FP7 funding can attend briefing sessions and host exploratory meetings to identify research partners with complementary expertise or technology.

Participants at the EEN event can benefit from the full range of networking opportunities at the Medical Innovation Forum and also qualify for a 25% discount from the participation cost.
