UK Intellectual Property Office
The UK Intellectual Property Office (UK-IPO) is an Executive Agency of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) within the Office for Science and Innovation (OSI), and is responsible for the national framework of Intellectual Property rights, comprising patents, designs, trade marks and copyright.
The UK-IPO manages an intellectual property system that stimulates innovation and creativity, balances the needs of consumers and users, promotes strong and competitive markets and is the foundation of the knowledge-based economy.
